It's seems that recently Manchester club nights have been dominated by the new urban sounds of Dubstep, Grime and New school hip hop, but where is old stuff? It's been a while since i've been out and heard someone blasting Pharcyde or some old Wu-Tang through some killer speakers. Finally it seems that someone is out to answer our calls under the name of JP (John Hubbard) to create a new Hip Hop orientated event on a chilled Sunday evening called Breakdown, playing some of the classics while your downing a well earned pint after a long week of working for 'The Man'. Sundays seem to be the forgotten day when it comes down to socialising and drinking due to the often worry of work the next day, but 'Breakdown' simply says 'Fuck That' and come enjoy yourself. Mr Hubbard is currently under negotiation with promoters and Hip Hop acts throughout the North West to keep this shit 'Tight', for the use of urban lingo.

It's fair to say he'll have the support of his friends and most importantly the Hip Hop community of 'Madchester'.

Fashion remains one of Manchester's major life lines which continuously encourages the city to grow developmentally and culturally. Since the unexpected IRA bombing in 1996 Manchester has been consistently rebuilding itself filling each 'nook and cranny' with places for consumers to spend their money on the latest fashion trends.

It takes certain individuals to really guide people through the ever-changing world of fashion and to show the public what they can really look good in. Nicki Gillon, is one of those people. From the age of 17, Nicki has played an integral part of the Manchester fashion scene, by buying for a variety of major designer stores and boutiques. Her main work stems from a well known company named 'Manchester Fashion Network' which specialises in creating business opportunities in the fashion industry for companies all over the UK. With working for such a prestigious organisation, Gillon has had the opportunity to be in the company of and to interview Fashion Legends such as Gok Wan, Matthew Williamson and Ben De Lisi to only name a few. It seems that at the tender age of 27 Nicki has her finger in a large amount of pies but still somehow finds time to feature on Manchester's one and only TV broadcasting channel, 'Channel M' giving fashion advice to the ones that seek it on their own show 'Style in the City'. Have i missed anything?

As well as her massive back catalogue of achievements she's now adding stylist to her list of skills. She claims to be just starting out, but has already worked with the elite of Manchester's talent when it comes down to professional photographers and models (examples of her work below). Miss Gillon has a blatant overall 'passion for fashion' and with that slogan i couldn't imagine anyone else who would fit the description of a Bratz doll even more than her, except obviously with a bigger behind.

Look out for her work in the future.

As some might be aware, Nike has gone through a major transition of change over the last two years, where they've really pushed the iconic 'Nike Sportswear' image to its full potential. In doing so they've been able to introduce new concepts and technology to their sneakers thus making their products accessible to all stores. In this case Nike Sportswear have worked with Hiroshi Fujiwara's Fragment Design to create a t-shirt with a new play on the original Nike 'Swoosh' image.

Expect to see it in in this years Spring/Summer Nike Sportswear range.

Supreme have teamed up with Nike on yet another great collaboration sneaker. This time it's on the vintage 'rarely heard about' Nike model, the Bruin. Pictures were released in Complex Magazine a few weeks ago and the rumors are that they will be released this year on the 18th of April. So far the feedback has been mostly positive, the New York brand seem to be putting Nike in the right direction once again.

I've just read the first official review of The Cool Kids album, 'When fish ride bicycles' released this year December 29, (weird date). From the sounds of it, the HYPE is true this album is supposed to be a breath of fresh air in the HipHop game. Chuck Inglish, one part of the dynamic duo/Producer of the unique Cool Kids sound has dropped lines in interviews saying, he's going for the same standard as Dr Dre's 'The Chronic' album released in 2001 which was practically one of the biggest Hip Hop albums ever made and still blasted through every hood and white suburban area throughout the world.

As well as the album holding down a innovative and original sound, the track names 'keep it real' and avoid the conventional hip hop song titles like 'bitch please' and 'trigga nigga' but use words referencing fishing and sweet cake toppings.

Expect 15 tracks of fire including the unofficial single for the 2K9 NBA basketball game 'Pennies'. If this album goes down the way i think it's going to go down, it will be as Inglish put so bluntly 'A problem'.

Obama has shook the world and shook it so hard he's slowly changing this over sized ball of water and land we live on into a place worth living. Since his official inauguration this year he's pushed harder and harder to make decisions to benefit America and the modern world. Easily criticised by almost everyone, he still manages to maintain a humble social status with everyone in the world hence being the first President to feature on a late night comedy TV chat show. Jay Leno is well known for his 'cheeky' demeanor and cut throat comedy questions, but that night he gave Obama a 30minute platform to discuss his ideas and plans to improve and develop the economy. Where Leno's show usually plays host to a bunch of A-list celebrities, you've got to wonder whether Obama's an actual celebrity himself rather than another political Drone.

It's very rare these days that you can come across a producer that has the ability to catch your attention in the first 10 seconds of a single track and that has a sound that is easily recognisable yet remains completely unique and original. Hudson Mohawke, a bedroom producer from Scotland, Glasgow has had his name up there with the underground greats such as Flying Lotus, Mike Slott and Samiyam for a few years but finally it seems everyone is uttering his name and his name only. His sound is raw, hardcore and contains different characteristics of Hip Hop, which we may have all forgotten. Sounding like a young Timberland before his complete and utter domination of the pop charts, Mohawke breaks it down in ways you wouldn't imagine, whilst working with aspiring artists as Nadsroic, I'm sure we'll be hearing his name echoed on the underground scene indefinitely.

As ever 'Apple' seem to be first across the finish line when it comes down to the battle of new technology and as always Apple come through with something equally innovative and a progression from their last product. In this we see the brand new edition of the Ipod Shuffle, which features a new shape and a new concept. With the 'Shuffle' not having a display screen, one of the new characteristics is that, it will now speak to you 'vocally' and tell you which artist or album you are currently listening to. The 'Shuffle' also takes on a new oblong shape which gives a slight change to the shape of the one released last year.

The 'Shuffle' released in 2004 was one of the first of many Ipods i've ever bought and i can say it was possibly one of the best, that was until i lost it inside the cinemas because it was too damn light weight.

Either way 'Apple' keep breaking down the barriers of modern technology and i can honestly say I'm in anticipation for their next release.

Well i seem to be in the vast minority when it comes to me not being a massive fan of 'Family Guy', what can i say I'm just a 'Simpsons' type of guy but anyway due to his extreme popularity with his fans and most importantly his ladies, Nike have picked Glen Quagmire to be their latest inspiration for the Nike SB Dunk. The colour combination on this sneaker is amazing, which features a white and grey sole unit and the upper part being of a slick blue canvas material with a red and gold floral print. This is defiently a collectors item, which is basically similar to the 'Ferris Buellar' and 'Marge Simpson' SB releases of last year.

This is the one of the first releases from the Jordan collection of this year and acting as a small bag of skittles, their sugary delight will be sprinkled onto some of our main selected high street stores.

This release features the classic model of the Jordan V in an interesting new colour-way. The sneaker features a white patent leather upper body, with a clear camo out sole. Already the response online has been mostly negative, however i think its cool to see the 'Jordans' back on the market, especially the V's.

Shits hit the fan for me at the moment. I've decided this is my year for getting back on it, getting back on everything new and old and now after the few months of hype shits slowly started to slow down.

The Boutique that i work at in Manchester (Ran Shoe Shop), has decreased my shifts so I'm sat at home, either watching pointless TV on my HD, LCD, 19 inch Freeview enabled TV that only allows me to watch ITV1, which in my eyes is fucking pathetic, sleeping large amounts of my day away or going to Bones Skatepark(Stockport) to get Zooted, eat endless slushi's and skate.

So, i've made a blog at 4:36am whilst listening to Radioheads 'Scotch Mist' Webcast on Youtube.
